Project Management

LCM Group has within its team, construction managers who have professional experience as project director and project manager for tier-one mechanical services contractors.  LCM Group recognize the recipe for success is understanding and mastering the fundamentals. The greater the understanding, the more effective the controls can be on the projects’ costs and risks, thus providing greater certainty to the client’s business.  With its extensive experience on a wide range of projects, LCM Group is equipped to provide services to contractors that will give them the assurance that costs are controlled, risks are mitigated and opportunities to improve on profit are identified and pursued in the face of contractual hurdles that are often encountered in construction contracts.  LCM Group construction mangers have proven track records in successfully dealing with end user clients, builders, architects and structural and services consultants.  Further, we are experienced in positively influencing the outcome of projects, which is a point of difference from only performing administrative functions and reporting.

Engineering

LCM Group’s engineering consists within its team, professional experience as senior design engineer, senior project engineer for tier-one mechanical contractors, as well as leading mechanical consulting firms.  Tertiary qualified engineers’ accreditations include, Registered Building Practitioner (RBP,) NEBB TAB professional, Greenstar accreditation.  The provision of engineering services will include: 

 

Design and Construct Engineering

  • Working with project architect, services consultants, structural engineer and head contractor design manager and engineers, design mechanical services from Concept Design, or Developed Design to Detailed Design to meet client design brief, project specifications and Building Code,

  • Propose complying alternatives that will provide better solution and offer commercial benefits to both end user client and contractors,

  • Administer heat load calculations where required,

  • Participate in client’s design coordination process including design team meetings.

 

Project Engineering 

  • Conduct comprehensive design review

  • Detail design, schedule all equipment, fire matrix to comply with specifications, FER, Acoustic report and relevant standards and codes

  • Evaluate complying alternative proposals

  • Raise and manage RFI’s with project design team

  • Respond to subcontractor and supplier RFIs

  • Represent contractor at workshops (to resolve engineering issues) and coordination meetings with structure, architecture, and other services

  • Issue design prints to drafting and review and approve shop drawings prior to issuing for approval

  • Manage commissioning plan

    • Working closely with commissioning manager, develop commissioning plan and commissioning methodologies

  • Issue O&M manuals

  • Sign off relevant conformance certificates (including Form 15 and Form 16.)

Services Management

LCM Group professionals in services manager role will take responsibility for:

  • Delivering what the client needs and reviewing shop drawings and equipment schedules and manage their approval process cognizant of program requirements

  • Be the conduit between the contractors and the client’s design team on the coordination of services within the overall building design

  • Manage and coordinate all building services’ contractors including running services coordination meetings at regular intervals

  • Manage the response to RFI’s and liaise with project architect, structural engineer and services consultants to drive solutions

  • Coordinate clash resolution with design and construction teams

  • Upstream and downstream commissioning management

  • Manage completion of services, handover and client training in line with project milestones.

Tender Management

Drawing from our experience, we will make determination on the tenderers’:

  • Appreciation of the tasks through the methodology it has presented to demonstrate its approach to accomplish the project outcome

  • Project management experience and systems

  • Fields of expertise and specific technical skills required to deliver the project

  • Understanding of program and provision of associated resource plan including list of specialist subcontractors

  • Quality and HS&E systems

  • Relevant recent experience and references.

Programming

LCM Group will build construction programs for head contract work in Microsoft Projects format.  Our significant and diverse experience in project delivery positions us well to develop complex programs.

We will help determine the most efficient methodology by applying our understanding of the design, procurement, mobilization, construction, completions and commissioning phases to derive accurate and project specific time frames and sequencing of building and services trades.  Our ability to correctly identify the critical path from day one will be invaluable in planning the head contract and managing all contractor agreements.

Design Management

LCM Group has within its team, design manager with senior leadership experience in leading architectural firms who has successfully delivered projects in Europe, North America as well as Australia and NZ.  LCM Group can provide the following design management services:
